Origin: Southern Africa, Madagascar

This plant is a shrub or low tree, which can grow up to 6 metres tall under natural conditions. Its leaves are pale green, lobed, alternate, with clearly visible veining; they are large, heart-shaped and slightly serrated at the edges. The leaf blade is fuzzy and soft to the touch. The flowers are large and white, with yellow and red stamens. African hemp is grown as a potted plant.
